Proposal
You will need to write a proposal to respond to the RFP.
This will be handed in for marks both as a printed, professionally bound document, as well as a PDF on your project CD.
You might have several different sections for your content; here are a few you might have seen in your research (not complete or in any order):
- Cover Page with Executive Summary/Description
- Table of Contents
- Goals/Key Message/Objectives
- Project Scope
- Target Audience Discussion
- Wire frame and Design Mockups
- Competition Discussion
- Milestones/Timeliness
- Proposed Site map or Story board
- Terms and Conditions/Requirements/Assumptions
- Budget
- References/Examples of Work
- Appendices with your final invoice and time sheet
- Your final project will be handed in on a CD, attached to the proposal. You will need to submit two copies of both the CD and the proposal.
This document starts off as a proposal for a Web site in response to an RFP, but evolves into a kind of diary for your project. You develop this document in your planning stage to help you manage your project, but in the end, you end up with a professional document you can use as a reference when quoting future projects as well as something tangible that you can take in with you during a job interview.
