Overview
This module covers various options for creating, formatting and editing type (text).
Here is a summary of the topics in this module:
- (1) About Type
- This is a brief lecture about what type is and how type layers can be rasterized.
- (2) Type Options
- There four variations of the Type tool that create type vectors or type selections and set them up in a horizontal or vertical orientation. These options are displayed in the Tool Options bar along with other options.
- (3) Creating Type
- This lecture teaches the basics of creating type and defines point type and paragraph type.
- (4) Formatting Characters
- The Character panel is used to apply formatting to characters. These options include font family, font style, font size, leading, kerning, and tracking.
- (5) Formatting Paragraphs
- Paragraphs can be formatted using the Paragraph panel. Formatting options include alignment, justification, hyphenation rules, indentation and spacing between paragraphs.
- (6) Editing Type
- This lecture covers checking spelling and using the Find and Replace command.
