Welcome to Introduction to Dreamweaver. To do this course, you will need to have Dreamweaver installed on your system. You can purchase Dreamweaver from the Macromedia Dreamweaver Web site. If you want to use a 30-day evaluation copy, you can download it from the Dreamweaver Trial site.
Class Lectures
- (1) Dreamweaver Overview
- This class will begin with a brief overview of Dreamweaver. This will discuss why you should use Dreamweaver, the Web site design process, and some things you can do to make Dreamweaver work better.
- (2) Work Environment
- We will become familiar with the various parts of the Dreamweaver work environment, including its various windows, views and palettes. Then we can move on to more specific things.
- (3) Text and Images
- The most important thing to learn is how to work with basic text and images. This section will deal with everything from inserting basic text to formatting using CSS, as well as working with images.
- (4) Tables
- In this section we will learn how to effectively use tables in Dreamweaver. Inserting, modifying, and working with tables will all be covered.
- (5) Forms
- We will learn all about how to use forms in Dreamweaver and how to add and modify their various components.
- (6) Behaviors
- Behaviors are ready-made JavaScript functions that you can add into a document in Dreamweaver. We will learn how to effectively use and manage these.
- (7) Layers
- A very useful part of Dynamic HTML that later browsers can utilize is layers. We will learn how to use them effectively in Dreamweaver, as well as some neat tricks.
- (8) Frames
- A way to present multiple HTML pages in the same window is by using frames. Dreamweaver can simplify the process of creating and managing frames.
- (9) Setting Up a Site
- After you have learned about all the various tools and techniques involved with Dreamweaver, it's time to learn about setting up a site. This section will explore the various tools and techniques available for site management.
- (a) Publishing
- Once the content for the Web site has been created and the site has been set up in Dreamweaver, the only thing left to do is publish it.This section will discuss what you can do to check your site for problems, and then finally upload it.
